Sewer Backup or Sewage Coming Up in the Shower
Challenge: A toilet, tub, shower, or floor drain may back up when wastewater cannot move through part of the drainage system. When more than one fixture is affected, the issue may involve a shared or main drain path rather than a simple clog in one sink.
Impact: Wastewater can contaminate flooring, walls, belongings, and occupied areas. Continuing to flush toilets, run faucets, shower, wash clothes, or use a dishwasher can add more water to the backup.
Our Response: Stop using water throughout the property. Rose Pasa Plumbing can assess the drain or sewer issue using appropriate diagnostic methods, including drain clearing, cable equipment, sewer-camera inspection, or further sewer-line evaluation. For a public sewer-related overflow, Paramount directs residents to LA County Public Works at 1-800-675-HELP (4357).
Overflowing Toilet That Will Not Stop
Challenge: A toilet can overflow because of a blocked trap or drain, a failed fill valve, a flapper issue, or a larger downstream drain problem.
Impact: Water can spread rapidly across flooring and into nearby rooms. If the water is dirty or the overflow follows repeated flushing, sanitation concerns increase.
Our Response: Do not flush again. If safe, turn the toilet's shutoff valve clockwise behind or beside the toilet. If water is rising quickly, remove the tank lid and lift the flapper or close the supply valve. Call an emergency plumber if the overflow cannot be controlled, if sewage is involved, or if other fixtures are backing up. See our Toilet Repair & Replacement service.
Burst Pipe, Pipe Leak, or Water Leaking Through a Ceiling
Challenge: A pipe, fitting, supply line, valve, appliance connection, or fixture leak can release water inside a wall, ceiling, cabinet, crawlspace, or floor assembly.
Impact: Water can damage drywall, insulation, cabinetry, flooring, electrical components, and personal property. A ceiling can become unstable if it is holding water.
Our Response: Shut off the nearest fixture valve if you know the source and can safely reach it. If the source is unknown or water is spreading quickly, turn off the main water supply if safe. Keep away from water near electrical fixtures. Rose Pasa Plumbing can locate the leak, isolate the affected section, complete the appropriate pipe repair, and advise when separate drying or restoration services may be needed.
Hidden Leak or Possible Slab Leak
Challenge: A hidden water leak may appear as a rising water bill, a water meter that moves when all fixtures are off, warm flooring, damp spots, mold-like odors, reduced water pressure, or unexplained moisture.
Impact: A hidden leak can continue to damage materials before it becomes visible. The right repair method depends on the line location, pipe condition, access, and extent of damage.
Our Response: Rose Pasa Plumbing provides water leak detection and slab-leak evaluation. The goal is to identify the source before recommending a repair method. Not every wet floor or high bill is a slab leak; diagnosis should come before major repair decisions.
Water Heater Leaking or No Hot Water
Challenge: A water heater may leak from a connection, drain valve, temperature-and-pressure relief valve, tank body, or nearby plumbing line. No hot water can result from fuel, power, thermostat, burner, pilot, heating-element, valve, or tank issues.
Impact: A leaking water heater can create water damage, while no hot water may affect an occupied home, apartment building, or business. A gas water-heater concern must be handled cautiously.
Our Response: If water is actively leaking, turn off the cold-water supply valve above the heater only if it is safe and accessible. For electric units, avoid electrical hazards. For suspected gas odors, leave the area rather than attempting a repair. Rose Pasa Plumbing can inspect the water heater and related plumbing to determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
Clogged Drain, Kitchen Backup, or All Drains Backing Up
Challenge: A single slow sink may be a localized blockage, but several drains backing up together can indicate a more central drainage problem.
Impact: Water may return through lower fixtures, spread to cabinets or flooring, and interrupt normal use of bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry equipment.
Our Response: Avoid repeatedly plunging, flushing, or pouring chemical drain cleaners into a severe backup. Chemical products can create hazards for occupants and technicians and may not solve a main-line issue. Rose Pasa Plumbing can determine whether the appropriate next step is standard drain clearing, sewer-camera inspection, hydro jetting, or repair of a damaged drain or sewer line.
Suspected Gas-Line Leak or Gas Smell
Challenge: A sulfur-like odor, hissing sound, damaged gas line, or suspected gas leak is a safety emergency—not a DIY plumbing task.
Impact: Natural gas can create fire, explosion, injury, and property-damage risk.
Our Response: Leave the building or area immediately. Do not operate switches, appliances, vehicles, or phones inside the suspected leak area. From a safe location, call SoCalGas at 1-800-427-2200. Call 911 from a safe location if there is immediate danger. Call Rose Pasa Plumbing only after emergency utility guidance has been followed and it is safe to discuss gas line repair needs.
